Hi! I'm Funbags, a new developer creating a NSFW VN/Dating Sim called "Monster Slums!", I will be regularly adding content and updating overall progress on the game!
Monster Slums! is a sandbox style dating sim.
Based around making your own choices that will permanently affect the game, at your own pace. In game you'll find a local demon slumlord, and a variety of characters in a similar situation as yourself.
When you wake up in a different bed it can be disorienting, but to make matters worse you seem to have woken up in a completely new world altogether. As if that wasn't bad enough, you quickly realize that your new living situation might be a bit unorthodox. With a truly demonic landlady to deal with, some real monsters for neighbors, and no apparent path back to a normal life:
Will you adapt and thrive in your new circumstances?
Bend to your captors whims?
Turn the tables on your new oppressors?
Or just see where things take you?
Roadmap:
V0.1.7c is available now with the new renders and some game play tweaks, going forward I'm looking at:
• Fully implemented monetary systems with purchasable items
• Several supporting characters in the upcoming locations
• Many more additional locations that you can travel to
• Further development of main character's stories

Miss this game, was one of the first ive played on itch. Hope maybe one day itll be continued, or they make a new one

Game's been moved to abandoned status on other sites. Was good while it lasted.

Largely unplayable due to the constant crashing. But it doesn't look like this is getting fixed anytime soon as it's been dead and abandoned for a year.
A really nice game, but wish there was a way to tell between undiscovered paths and undeveloped paths.

Don't really have a firm eta, day job is kicking my butt.
I seem to be consistently crashing during Natalie's first sex scene. I know you're busy, but I just wanted to let you know, so you're at least aware of it.
Edit: I retract my previous statement. It seems to be that some (if not, most) animated scenes seem to be unstable. I'm on PC, and according to ToxiMoron, it seems to affect Android too.
For PC I'd need to know some more specifics about your setup, I've tried isolating issues on win7 before and was unable to find a resolution for those issues. I've also recently run into an issue with recent amd video drivers preventing me from running any ren'py games (I've just resorted to using a VM until either amd drivers rectify the issue or a new version of ren'py releases that corrects the issue).
As for android I'm currently in the process of seeing if I can replicate the issues with my device to see if I can figure out what is causing that.
There is a minor flaw in Cherry's room where the option to open her dialogue menu exists even when she is not in her room, by clicking where she would normally be standing she will then appear/disappear.
Also some random crashes with animations on Android.

Is this game dead? Recently installed it and enjoyed it but noticed it hasnt been updated in a long time. Is this dead, or is it just a very long update this time?

It's only male protag, I plan to make some lesbian scenes but the main character is male so there aren't any pure lesbian routes.

Hey Dev,
Please note that there are some issues with the Re'npy's latest software update 7.4.2 as I got to know it from a wonderful developer who patiently helped me out with this issue. So, please if you are using Re'npy software to develop your game & planning to release your latest update, then please first downgrade your software to version 7.3.5 and then release it.
Also note that if you are going to release the upgrades to your game using the new software and if an individual downloads & installs it, the game will not only not work but your old saved games won't work either. So before releasing it you need downgrade the software to version 7.3.5 and then release.
I had to reset my phone and lose my saves from all the games that were installed in my phone just so that we could come up with this conclusion of mine. I wouldn't want any other patron or other players to go through the same process. I'd request you to explain this situation to the Re'npy developers team and get this sorted out.
Note: This is my experience purely based on Android phone with Android version 11. I cannot vouch for any other software or OS.

I've only been using 7.3.5, and I don't really intend to update to a newer version of ren'py in the middle of a project. Thank you for the useful information though!
You're welcome, after I sent the same message to so many devs, you're the first who was not aware of this and I'm really grateful that I was able to reach out to you whether you had updated it or not.....
Because most of them already knew the problem existed or some of them had already updated the Re'npy software and released the updates to the game using that, then had to face the problems that comes along with it...
You know, it's really really disappointing if something like that happens after you've put hours and hours of efforts & dedication into developing a wonderful game....

I haven't made any of the content for that yet, the next updates are all to add locations. I wouldn't expect to see that feature implemented until after v0.2.0.

Yes there will be more updates, I'm over halfway done with the current one.
I'd like to put out updates faster but my day job has been taking up a lot more of my free time this year, I apologise for the wait.
No No No, that's fine, I actually liked playing your game, but when there were no updates for so long, I felt that the project was abandoned.... I didn't know you were a part time game developer.... In any case keep up the good work and please take your time, I personally am a fan of quality over speed... I'll be definitely cheering you on !!!!!

Yes, it is still in development. It was originally slated for the current version of the game, but in order to have a timely and high quality update it has been pushed out to the next upcoming update.

There are quite a few animations in each unique story scene, and also in repeatable menu options.

is there femdom content in it?
There's some femdom-lite content in it. Mostly manipulation, vampire gets a little dominating too but it's rather light atm.

Yea, I'm intending to have different routes for the girls and Selena is going to have a femdom route that goes heavier on the femdom, but I don't intend to make any "pegging" scenes. If I add a strap-on scene its getting used on another female not the MC.
by the way can u add a mega download too it would makw it easier i tried patreon page there you have mediafire download which is better than chrome download but still a mega download would be best
There are in total 3 download links, one of which is Mega on F95 however I don't think I can directly link you to the forum's thread from here as it's against Itch.io rules, but if you come across it over there you will find the link!
